KRB is holding a tree planting day on Saturday, March 10 from 8-11:30 a.m. This volunteer opportunity will help Keep the Rez Beautiful enhance a green space on Scenic Drive between the Forest Point and Turtle Creek subdivisions. KRB received a grant, and we wanted to plant some trees that will not only beautify this vacant space but also provide food and shelter for wildlife.

We held a charrette in September to gather ideas from nearby residents on how best to enhance this space. We’re planting trees that are native to our area. Natives are easy to maintain because they are adapted to Mississippi’s temperatures and rainfall. They are more resistant to local pests and disease. Read more on native plants.
