With two recycle fashion shows around the corner, Keep the Rez Beautiful volunteers and Keep Mississippi Beautiful’s Kimberly Nelson visited with third-graders at St. Anthony’s Catholic School about the importance of recycling. Keep Mississippi Beautiful works with affiliates like KRB to teach Waste in Place and other important lessons about waste reduction, litter prevention and recycling.
Part of the lesson included an activity where students created their own recyclable clothes. Each third-grader brought their own t-shirt and spiced it up with recyclable items – bottle caps, plastic bottles, newspapers and other unwanted items. Check out the photos from the fun day below.
