Lowe’s selects KRB for community improvement grant

Keep the Rez Beautiful was one of 120 Keep America Beautiful affiliates to receive a $5,000 community improvement grant from Lowe’s. The grant program will provide funding for Scenic Park, a green space established this year by Keep the Rez Beautiful. Plans for Scenic Park call for the planting of native shrubs and trees to add aesthetic value and wildlife habitat to a vacant four-acre site near the Ross Barnett Reservoir.

Work began on the site in March, following a charrette in September 2011 that gathered input from neighbors on how the site would be developed.
