Northwest Rankin High School seniors helped mark 27 storm drains in Mill Creek subdivision during the first weekend in February. Storm drain marking is done to inform citizens that polluted runoff carried from city streets, residential yards, driveways and parking lots drains directly to streams, reservoirs and other water bodies. It does not get treated. Any group can participate in storm drain marking: scout troops, church groups, school groups, etc. If your group would like to do a storm drain marking event, contact Deb Veeder, Adopt-A-Stream coordinator at dveeder@mswf.org.
