Environmental Workshop Offered for Educators

 Project Earth/H2O for CEUs environmental educational workshop will be offered to educators as well as other individuals desiring to earn Continuing Education Units.  Participants will earn 2.5 CEUs during the three day, hands-on workshop being held Monday, June 8th – Wednesday, June 10th  2020.  The workshop is subject to rescheduling or cancellation if necessary due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the three day workshop activities, a field trip and speakers are utilized to teach about water, soil, wildlife, horticulture therapy, recycling, agriculture, urban ecology, forestry and other natural resource subject areas.  Experts from local, state and federal agencies, conservation organizations, local agriculture producers and other guest speakers will conduct presentations and provide resource materials.  If you enjoy the outdoors and conservation this is a fun, three day workshop aimed at supplementing your curriculum no matter what subject area you teach.

The cost of the workshop is $60 (a refund will be issue if the workshop is cancelled due to COVID19) and includes all course materials, meals and CEUs.  Workshop hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  The workshop will be held at Bridlewood Event Center in Madison, MS and the Agriculture and Forestry Museum in Jackson, MS.  For more information or to register contact Celia Miller at the Soil and Water Conservation District- (601-859-4272 Ext. 3) or email at celia.miller@ms.nacdnet.net  Deadline for registration is May 29th, 2020.

The workshop is a partnership between Keep the Reservoir Beautiful, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, “The Pearl River Experience” and the Madison Soil and Water Conservation District.
